Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I even need a lawyer?

Seldom, if ever, would you expect an insurance company to look at your case with your best interest in mind. Adjusters and Lawyers are paid by the insurance company  and are ONLY looking out for their best interest, not yours.

How much will it cost me to hire you?

I work for you strictly on a contingent fee basis.

This means if I am not successful in resolving your case

(either by trial or settlement),  you owe me NOTHING.

Not only do you not owe me any fee, if I am unsuccessful in resolving your case,

you do not even have to reimburse me the money I have spent in pursuing your case

(unlike you would have to pay with other lawyers).

Will I have to go to trial or will my case settle?

That is strictly up to you. You are the ONLY one who can authorize your case

to settle. I can only give you my best legal advice. If I suggest you reject an insurance

company's offer, you have the right to reject that advice and I must settle your case.

Do you charge any money to look at and evaluate whether I have a case?

No. All consultations are free of charge, and, if necessary, I will pay experts

(whether it be medical doctors, accident recontuctionists or engineers). You will only

reimburse me in the event of a successful recovery.

What if I live in Oklahoma but I was injured out of state?

 Can you still help me?

Yes. I have handled cases in Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, California,

Connecticut, Michigan, Kansas, Arkansas, and more.

If I am injured, what elements of damages are recoverable?

Damages include medical bills, lost wages, physical pain and suffering (past

and future), mental pain and suffering (past and future) and disfigurement to name a few.

My insurance company hasn't been fair with me, what should I do?

HIRE A LAWYER! Insurance companies have an affirmative duty to deal

fairly and in good faith with their insureds. If they do not, they are exposed to damages

(recoverable by their insureds) that they would not ordinarily not be required to pay.

How long do I have to file a lawsuit after I have been injured?

The answer is "it depends." Some cases require a lawsuit be filed within one year (and maybe even a shorter time); others allow up to five years from the date

of injury. While yet others (involving minors) will allow up to one year from the date of his/her 18th birthday, However, many cases have been forever lost by not bringing a lawsuit within the time prescribed by law. DO NOT WAIT!! You are encouraged to

consult a lawyer to make sure your case is not forever barred.
